Cyber School @ the Library - if you are interested in learning about how to use
a computer then start @ the Library. We offer very basic courses in
Introduction to the Computer, Word Processing, the Internet and E-mail. Sign
up for the courses at the Circulation Desk. FREE
American Girls & Boys Club - for ages 7 to 12; meets monthly on the 1st
Wednesday of the month at 3:45pm. FREE
PAWS Reading Dogs – on the 3rd Wednesdays of each month. The PAWS
dogs (Pets As Willing Servants) and their trainers will be at the Library to listen
to children to read. There will be 2 sessions (3:30 and 4:00pm). September
through May FREE
Chess Club - 1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month 10:00am – 12:00pm. For all
ages and skill levels. FREE
Youth Book Club - a book club for 4th grade and up. Registration is limited to
20 and books will be provided. Call the Children’s Department for additional
information @ 352-735-7180 ext 3106. FREE
Fun with Music & Books -2nd Wednesdays of the month – an introduction to
music for children ages 5, 6 and 7. Susan Cole-Shaw, a local music teacher,
will lead this program. Children will be introduced to stories with musical
themes, easy songs, play hand held instruments and play fun music games.
Free. Class size is limited. Call 383-6975 to register.
Art Exhibits @ the Library – are in the Library’s gallery located in the Mount
Dora Community Trust Community Room.
W.T. Bland Public Library Advisory Board Meetings – are open to the public.
